“MATER SALVATORIS” AWARD FOR MORAL AND CHRISTIAN VALUES
The “Mater Salvatoris” Award for Moral and Christian Values was established in 2002 in response to the need to encourage reflection and seek out ethical models that might serve as a reference for conduct in the world today. Since then, this prize has been awarded annually, always relating to a current theme.
For the 2015-2016 academic year, the 16th edition of the prize relates to the call issued by Pope Francis and proposes reflection and internalisation along the theme: “Mother Teresa of Calcutta, a model for the world today”.
Mater Salvatoris School has a long tradition in the pursuit of academic excellence and the well-rounded development of its students.
Throughout its history, it has received recognition on a number of levels, which has sustained and supported its educational work. In recent years, it has received recognition and support from numerous public and private entities.
III INTER-MUNICIPAL SCHOOL DEBATING COMPETITION
In 2015, the Mater Salvatoris debating team comprised 1st year Baccalaureate students Catalina Hernández-Gil, Sofía Celaya, Beatriz Ybáñez, Victoria Leal and Verónica Aguirre, who achieved additional recognition by winning the III Inter-Municipal School Debating Competition, organised by Francisco de Vitoria University.
At its 2015 Schools Competition awards ceremony, Madrid City Hall awarded the winning team with a diploma, a medal and a trophy: the second they have won for the School.
In 2016, the team was made up of Isabel Núñez Rotta, María Vara Pitarch, Mª del Mar Santos Calvo, Miriam Granado Liaño and Ana Migallón Sartorius.
BEST SPEAKER PRIZE
Verónica Aguirre Díaz de Bustamante, a 2nd year Baccalaureate student, was awarded the Best Speaker Prize following her participation, in December 2015, in Francisco de Vitoria University’s Internal Debating League.
COMPLUTENSE UNIVERSITY DIPLOMA
In recognition of the 100 best students in the University Entrance Test (PAU) for the 2014-2015 year, the Rector of the Complutense University of Madrid awarded Mater Salvatoris a diploma for the excellent academic preparation displayed by its students.
